I've particularly been having the problems with gnome-print that you mention. In frustration, I ended up reinstalling Breezy and deciding to wait until Etch before I upgrade again. On the subject of finding computers coming pre-installed with Linux: in the US it's not quite as difficult as you make out, I don't think.
